About

Ben Nyberg is the founder of Nyberg Geographics. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, he developed an appreciation for nature and a sense of duty to care for it at an early age. Chasing snow, he ended up at the University of Colorado in Boulder where he received a bachelor’s degree in Geography. A wide range of experiences solidified his love for travel, adventure and education and he soon followed the sun and sea to Kauaʻi where he began working with local, state and national environmental conservation organizations.

Working his way up through the conservation ranks Ben discovered the complex ecosystems and culture of Hawaiʻi and strongly identified with the traditional Hawaiian value of Mālama ʻĀina, “to care for and nurture the land so it can give back all we need to sustain life for ourselves and our future generations”.

Ben is an FAA-certified drone pilot and his professional work includes conservation surveying, mapping and photography that has led to the discovery and rediscovery of critically endangered plants on the island of Kauai.

Ben’s professional interests and skills include UAVʻs, GIS, Cartography and Photography as well as digital media, and Hawaiian plant conservation. His personal pursuits include, camping, travel and spending time with his family.
